How to Export a CUCM Phone List to Excel

Need every phone, directory number, description, and device pool in a spreadsheet? Here are the native CUCM options, their limits, and a live alternative that is always current.

The native options

  • Bulk Administration export. Bulk Administration, then Phones, then Export Phones. You pick a query and a file format and download a CSV inside a .tar. It works, but it is a static snapshot and the query builder is clunky.
  • Cisco Unified Reporting. Good for canned inventory reports, less good for the exact columns you want.
  • CDR and CAR. Useful for call records, not for a clean device inventory.

A live alternative

Phone Blitz shows your whole cluster as a searchable grid. Filter to the phones you care about, sort by any column, and export a current list whenever you need one, no BAT job and no .tar file. Because it is live, the export is never a stale snapshot.

And unlike a read-only export, you can edit right there: change device pools, CSSs, or call forwards inline and push the change back across hundreds of phones. See the faster alternative to the CUCM Bulk Administration Tool.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I export a list of phones from CUCM?

Use Bulk Administration, then Phones, then Export Phones with a query, or use a live tool that shows the cluster as a grid you can filter and export at any time.

Can I export CUCM phones to Excel?

Yes. BAT exports a CSV you can open in Excel, or a live editor exports a filtered, current list directly.
